Jackie + Dason Kanarraville Falls Engagements

I kicked off the weekend with Jackie and Dason’s engagement session at Kanarraville Falls. We hiked a total of nearly 6 miles and crossed streams (cold streams from melted snow), rocks, and trees (don’t forget the rocky streams) to a cave at the top of the Falls. We packed some outfit changes and the necessary camera equipment (including lights-you’ll see why in just a minute). We stopped at some beautiful locations along the way to capture some gorgeous images. By the time we made it to the top, it was completely black in the cave. We were standing in rushing water as we were capturing the images. We were all shaking because we were so cold after getting soaked. In mid-April. In the dark.

In the image below, it was so dark I couldn’t even see Jackie and Dason. I was crouched in the water with my camera and light I’d have them shine a light on themselves so I could see enough to focus then we would pose and capture the images. It was literally a shot in the dark to capture each of these images. Personally, I think they ended up being stunning!
